Effective Date: January 1, 2025
At Wanderlust Journeys, we strive to provide exceptional travel experiences and customer service. This Refund Policy outlines the terms and conditions under which refunds are processed for our travel services. Please read this policy carefully before making a booking.
Refund eligibility depends on the type of service booked, the timing of your cancellation request, and the specific terms and conditions set by our travel service providers. Each booking confirmation includes details about applicable cancellation fees and refund conditions specific to your reservation.
When you request a cancellation, we work diligently to recover as much of your payment as possible. However, many travel services impose cancellation penalties that increase as the departure date approaches. We pass these costs through to you without markup, along with our service fee where applicable.
Cancellations More Than 60 Days Before Departure: If you cancel more than 60 days prior to your scheduled departure date, you may be eligible for a refund minus our service fee and any non-refundable deposits paid to service providers. The exact refund amount depends on the specific services booked and supplier policies.
Cancellations 30-60 Days Before Departure: Cancellations made between 30 and 60 days before departure typically incur cancellation fees ranging from 25% to 50% of the total booking cost, in addition to any non-refundable components. These fees vary by service provider and destination.
Cancellations Less Than 30 Days Before Departure: Cancellations made less than 30 days before your scheduled departure generally result in higher penalties, often 50% to 100% of the booking value. Many services become non-refundable within this timeframe, particularly flights and special tour packages.
No-Shows: If you fail to appear for your scheduled travel services without prior cancellation, no refund will be provided. This applies to flights, accommodation, tours, and all other booked services.
Flight Bookings: Airline tickets are subject to the fare rules of the specific airline and ticket type. Many discounted and promotional fares are non-refundable or subject to substantial change fees. Full-fare tickets typically offer more flexible cancellation terms but may still incur airline-imposed fees.
Accommodation: Hotel and resort cancellation policies vary widely. Some properties offer free cancellation up to a certain number of days before check-in, while others require full payment in advance with no refund option. Luxury and boutique properties often have stricter cancellation policies.
Tours and Activities: Tour operators typically require advance notice for cancellations, ranging from 24 hours to several weeks depending on the activity type and group size. Private tours and specialty experiences generally have more restrictive cancellation policies than standard group tours.
Package Holidays: Our complete travel packages have specific cancellation terms based on the combination of services included. Package cancellations are subject to the most restrictive policy among the included components, plus our package coordination fee.
Once we receive your cancellation request and confirm the applicable refund amount with all service providers, we will process your refund within 14 business days. Refunds are issued to the original payment method used for booking.
Please note that it may take additional time for the refund to appear in your account depending on your financial institution's processing times. International transactions may take longer to process than domestic payments.
If you wish to modify your booking rather than cancel it completely, change fees will apply based on the policies of each service provider. Changes made close to the departure date typically incur higher fees and may also result in fare or rate differences.
We will do our best to accommodate your change requests, but availability cannot be guaranteed, especially during peak travel seasons. In some cases, it may be more cost-effective to cancel and rebook rather than modify an existing reservation.
In the event of circumstances beyond our control, such as natural disasters, political instability, pandemics, or other force majeure events that prevent travel, refund options depend on the policies of individual service providers and any government directives in place.
We will work with you and our partners to explore all available options, which may include rebooking for future dates, travel credits, or partial refunds. However, we cannot guarantee full refunds in force majeure situations where service providers do not offer them.
If you purchased travel insurance through us or independently, you may be able to recover cancellation costs through an insurance claim. We can provide documentation to support your claim, including booking confirmations, cancellation notices, and receipts.
Insurance claims are handled directly between you and the insurance provider. We are not responsible for insurance claim denials or delays, but we are happy to assist you with the documentation process.
Certain items and fees are non-refundable under all circumstances, including our service fees for consultation and booking assistance, visa application fees and related processing costs, travel insurance premiums once coverage begins, and promotional or deeply discounted fares clearly marked as non-refundable at the time of booking.
If you have concerns about a refund decision, please contact us immediately. We are committed to fair and transparent refund processing and will review your situation carefully. In cases where you disagree with a refund determination, we can provide detailed documentation showing how the refund was calculated based on supplier terms.
